Example: Creating a view with all documents created by me this year

This example tells you how to create a view that contains all documents that you have created during the current year. In this example, the current year is 2024.

  1. Open the Views tab.
  2. In the bottom right corner of the listing area, select Create view ().
    It can be helpful to temporarily close the Metadata or Preview area, or both.
  3. Give your view a name.
  4. Select Add filter.
  5. In the text field, enter created.
  6. In the list, select Created.
  7. In the middle field, change the operator from the equals sign (=) to the "greater than" sign (>).
  8. Select the calendar icon and select 31 December 2023.
    Result:Now all content in the view has been created after the last day of 2023.
  9. Select the empty text field and enter created again.
  10. In the list, select Created by.
  11. Open the Select value drop-down menu and select your name.
  12. Select Apply.
  13. In the Select object type list, select Document.
    If you cannot see the object type, you can select it from the Select object type drop-down menu.
    Result:Here is an example of the finished settings before the view is saved:
  14. Select Save view.
M-Files creates a view with all documents that you have created after the start of 2024. You can see it in the My views section of the Views tab.
