You can set default search filters that will be remembered by M-Files always when you log in to the vault using
M-Files Desktop. This is useful, if you often select the
same search options on the Filters tab when searching for
documents or objects.
Do the following steps to set default search filters:

In M-Files Desktop, perform a search.
Result:The Filters tab is opened in the right
pane.

On the Filters tab, hover over the the search criterion
you want to select as your default search filter.
Note: If your vault uses the Micro Focus IDOL search engine, you can
set any search filter as default. If dtSearch is used instead, you can
select filters from the Scope, Object
Type, and Repository search options as
default.
Result:The open lock icon (
) appears in front of the check box.

Click the open lock icon ().
Result:The search criterion is shown in bold and it appears with closed lock
icon (
) under
Your default filters at the
top of the
Filters tab.

Set as many filters as desired by repeating the steps 2 and 3.
- Optional:
To unselect a default search filter, click it under Your default
filters.
Result:The search filter is removed from the list.
When searching for documents and objects in M-Files Desktop,
the set default filters are automatically used as search criteria.
You can view your current default search filters and refine them on the
Filters tab. The default search filters are shown in bold
and they are listed under Your default filters.
To remove all default filters, click the icon.
