Creating Objects

To create an object:

  1. Select Create in the task bar at the top left corner of the user interface.
  2. Select an object type.
    If you select Document, see Creating documents.
  3. Enter the metadata for the object.
    Mandatory fields show an asterisk (*).
  4. Optional: Disable Check in immediately if you want the object to stay checked out to you.
    This is helpful if you want to edit the object before you check it in for others users to see it.
  5. Select Create.
Your object is saved to M-Files. The users with read permissions for the object can now use search to find it.
