The sections below explain settings in more detail.
General template settings
When you create or edit a template, you can define basic information that helps organize and manage the template. These settings include the template name, creator, description, category, tags, and availability.
Template naming settings
With the Filename Builder you can create a naming pattern with fixed text and dynamic fields. These fields can include the template name, current date, answers to questions, or a counter.
To build a filename, drag and drop coloured boxes to the name building area. The preview updates automatically as you add or remove elements. This helps you to see how the final filename will look.
To remove an item from the filename, move your pointer over the box and click the small x in the upper right corner.
Metadata automation settings
When you create or edit a template in M-Files Ment, you can define metadata that is automatically set to all documents generated from that template. The metadata values can be either static or dynamically filled based on answers provided in the questionnaire.
You can also select whether to show the metadata card upon saving. If this option is disabled, the document is saved to M-Files with the predefined metadata.
