About M-Files Manage

M-Files Manage uses a secure database for storing the licensing, user, and vault information associated with your subscription. M-Files Manage administrators communicate with OneDB which in turn references information directly from the vaults in the cloud.

M-Files vault administrators leverage the user information in M-Files Manage to assign groups and permissions, and to do vault configuration tasks with the M-Files Admin tool. It is also possible to import user information from Microsoft Entra ID which is then synchronized to M-Files Manage. Other authentication methods can be configured.

Vault access rights are controlled in M-Files Manage. However, more detailed rights, user groups, and some other functions related to user experience are controlled with M-Files Admin.
