Setting Up M-Files Hubshare for Microsoft Office

To use M-Files Hubshare for Microsoft Office, make sure that these prerequisites are completed:

  • You have Microsoft Office 2007 or later installed.
  • You have enabled your Microsoft Office version to use plugins.
  • To use the M-Files Hubshare ribbon, you must have M-Files Hubshare 2013 or later.
To set up the plugin:
  1. Click the user icon.
  2. Click Settings > Downloads.
  3. Click the Microsoft Office logo to download the setup package.
  4. When the download is complete, start and complete the Windows installer.
When the installation is complete, you must connect Microsoft Office and M-Files Hubshare:
  1. Click the three-dots icon () for a file.
  2. Click Open in Office desktop.
    Result:The Server address dialog is opened.
  3. Enter the URL of you server and click Validate.
    The URL can be https://fr.hubshare.com, https://us.hubshare.com, https://ca.hubshare.com, https://au.hubshare.com, https://de.hubshare.com, https://ch.hubshare.com. If you do not know which one to use, contact your system administrator.
    Result:The Hubshare connection dialog is opened.
  4. Enter the email address that you use when you log in to M-Files Hubshare.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter your password and click Sign in.
  7. Read the terms and click Accept.
The file is opened in the Microsoft Office app.

To disconnect your M-Files Hubshare account from Microsoft Office, click Logout on the Hubshare tab. When you disconnect your M-Files Hubshare account from Microsoft Office in one Office app, you are disconnected from all Office apps.
