Verifying resource usage
It is important to monitor how much resources are necessary to run the M-Files system. If the resource consumption goes over a specified limit, it is time to upgrade your system. For hardware and system operation requirements, see System requirements and technical details.
Monitor at least these resource components:
- Vault metadata and file data sizeNote: You can check the location of the metadata file and the file data folder in the Document Vault Properties dialog in M-Files Admin. For instructions, see Checking the size of a Firebird metadata file.
- Memory
- Disk space and health
- Backup size and duration (must not overlap with optimization)
