Changing the License Type for User Groups
You can change a user group's license type to a higher one than the default license type. The order of the license types from highest to lowest is Named, Concurrent, Read-only, and No license.
For example, if the default license type for provisioned users is Read-only, you can change a user group's license type to Concurrent or Named. M-Files Manage examines all the user group members and changes the license type if the new license type is higher than the current one. A user that is part of many user groups gets the highest license type that is available for the user.
Important: When you manage user groups with user provisioning, do not to make changes to the
license types at the user level. Otherwise, changes to user groups or user group memberships can have
unwanted effects and it is difficult to know why a user has the specified license type.
