To edit a document with a desktop application:

Make sure that you have the M-Files Web Companion application
installed.

Right-click the document in the listing area.

Select Open in desktop app.

Select Check out.
This makes sure that only you can edit the document.
To edit a document that is checked out to someone else, click the
document with the secondary mouse button and select Ask object to be checked
in.

Make your changes in the desktop application.

Save the changes and close the desktop application.

In M-Files, right-click the document in the listing area.

Click Check in.
Your edits are checked in to the vault and can be seen by other
users.
