Export package location
On the Package Location tab of the Export Content dialog, you can change the location of the content package. M-Files names the files automatically according to the vault ID and timestamp, so that you can find the content package easily later.
You can also change the user account to be used. The user must have the rights to the specified saving location for the export to be completed. The default selection is Local System account.
M-Files automatically creates a numeric ID for each scheduled replication job. You can enter an additional ID for the job to the Configuration ID field. The configuration ID can be any string of characters. If a configuration ID cannot be found when the jobs are processed, M-Files uses the job ID.
Use replication through cloud storage
You can also use replication through a cloud storage location. When exported, M-Files encrypts the replication packages locally with the AES-256 algorithm and uploads them to the cloud storage. When imported, M-Files downloads the replication packages from the cloud storage and decrypts them locally.
- One or both vaults are M-Files Cloud vaults.
- The two servers have no shared file system location that both can reach.
- You want to make sure that only approved users can access data that you copy to other locations.
Connection string
The connection string identifies the cloud storage location used for the replication packages. The export job and the matching import job must use the same connection string. Do not create a separate connection string for each end.
How to get the connection string:

User-specified folder name
The folder name is unique for one export-import pair. If you replicate in both directions, use different folder names for the outgoing and the incoming jobs.
User-specified password for encryption
The replication password is used for the encryption of the replication packages. The password can be whatever you decide. Just remember to use the same password for export and import. M-Files cannot recover the password, and packages encrypted with a lost password cannot be imported.
