Adding M-Files Charts Widgets

Note: To configure the modules of a hub, you must have hub admin rights. To configure the modules of the organization-level hub, you must have organization-level admin rights.

The M-Files Charts widget shows the information of an M-Files Views or M-Files Explorer widget in a graphical form. Before you can add an M-Files Charts widget, you must have added an M-Files Views or M-Files Explorer widget. For more information, see Adding M-Files Views Widgets and Adding M-Files Explorer Widgets.

To add an M-Files Charts widget to the hub dashboard:

  1. On the hub dashboard, click the pen icon () and select New widget.
    Result:The Add widget dialog opens.
  2. In the Widgets connected to M-Files section, select M-Files Charts.
    Result:The Select source widget dialog opens.
  3. Select the source widget.
  4. Click Save.
    Result:The General configuration tab opens.
  5. Enter a name for the widget and select its size.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select the chart type.
    Result:The Widget configuration tab opens.
  8. Specify the settings for the M-Files Charts widget.
    Location Setting or command Description
    Configuration Chart type This setting lets you change the selected chart type.
    Configuration Object type This setting lets you specify which object type is shown in the chart.

    If the selected source widget is an M-Files Explorer widget, the value for this setting is automatically set and you cannot change it.

    Configuration Data grouping property This setting lets you select the property for grouping the data in the chart.
    Configuration Interval This setting lets you select the time interval for grouping the data in the chart.

    The setting is shown only for Series chart types when the type of the selected data grouping property is date or timestamp.

    Configuration Mathematical operation This setting lets you select which mathematical operation is done to property data.
    Configuration Property This setting lets you select on which property the widget applies the mathematicl operation.

    The setting is shown only when the value for Mathematical operation is Property addition.

    Configuration Maximum number of items This setting lets you specify the maximum number of items that are shown in the chart.

    The setting is shown only for Proportion chart types.

    Configuration Data series This setting lets you add a new data serie to the chart. You can configure both bars and lines for a chart.

    The setting is shown only for bar and line charts.

    Visual Color This setting lets you change the default colors of chart items.

    The setting is shown only for Proportion chart types.

    Visual Hide grid Enable this setting to hide the grid.

    The setting is shown only for bar and line charts.

    Visual Show bars as stacked Enable this setting to show the bars of different data series on top of each other.

    The setting is shown only for bar charts when at least one data serie has been set.

    Visual Horizontal bars Enable this setting to show the chart bars horizontally.

    The setting is shown only for bar charts.

    Visual Fill date gaps Enable this setting to fill gaps between dates.

    The setting is shown only for Series chart types when the type of the selected data grouping property is date or timestamp.

  9. Click Next.
  10. In Widget rights, specify the users who can see the widget.
  11. Click Save.
