Adding M-Files Views widgets
Note: To configure the modules of a hub, you must have hub admin
rights. To configure the modules of the organization-level hub, you must have organization-level admin rights.
To add the M-Files Views widget to the hub dashboard:

On the hub dashboard, select the pen icon (
) and select New widget.
Result:The Add widget dialog opens. -
In the Widgets connected with M-Files section, select
M-Files Views.
Result:The Select source widget dialog opens.

In Configuration selection, select a connection.
If the connection you need is not in the list, you can create it. For more information, see Adding Connections from M-Files Hubshare to M-Files and Setting up M-Files widgets.
- Click Save.
- Enter a title for the widget and select its size.

Click Next.
Result:The M-Files widget configuration section is shown.

Specify the settings for the M-Files widget.
The widget configuration settings are divided into the View selection, Configuration, Filters, Metadata display, and Uploads tabs.

Use the View selection tab to specify which M-Files view the widget shows.
Give a name for the root-level view that is shown in the widget and select the root-level view for the widget in the listing area.

Use the Configuration tab to define what users see and in the widget and what actions
they can do.
Setting Description Show files of objects When enabled, the files of the selected M-Files objects are shown in the widget's listing area. Relationships filtering Specify which object relationships are shown in the widget's listing area. Watermark template Specify which watermark template is used for objects that the widget shows. Targeted users Specifies which users the selected watermark template is applied to when documents are viewed or printed in the widget. Downloading and printing files enabled When enabled, users can download and print documents from the widget. Save annotations When enabled, users can add annotations to documents and save them as new documents. Users can add files to objects When enabled, users can add files to existing objects. Users can create objects When enabled, users can create new objects. Editing files enabled When enabled, users can update the content in existing files and edit files in Office for the web. The edited file is saved as a new file version. Use allowed extensions list When enabled, users can add or edit only those files, which have the separately specified extensions. Allow file index export to CSV When enabled, users can create a CSV export of all elements in the widget (for example, views and sub views). Allow data export to CSV When enabled, users can create a CSV export of information that is shown in the widget columns. Show activities to all internal users When enabled, all internal hub users have the Activities option in the widgets' context menu. If disabled, only hub admins have the option. -
Use the Filters tab to define which content is shown in the widget.
Setting Description View filter Specify which sub-views are shown in the widget. Object filter Specify the element that is filtered and the applicable filter. End-user filter Specify which properties end-users can use to filter the widget contents. -
Use the Metadata display tab to control which metadata is shown in the widget.
Setting Description Select metadata Specifies which metadata is shown in the widget, which metadata is shown as a column, and which metadata can be edited. Sort metadata Specifies the order of the properties on the metadata card. Column order Specifies the order of the properties that are shown as a column in the widget. - Use the Uploads to specify which information user must give to uploaded files, and how the content is saved when a user uploads many items at once.

Use the View selection tab to specify which M-Files view the widget shows.
- Click Next.
- In Widget rights, specify the users who can see the widget.
- Click Save.
