Adding State Transitions to a Workflow
- Open M-Files Admin.
- In the left-side tree view, expand a connection to M-Files server.
- Expand Document Vaults.
- Expand a vault.

Select Workflows.
Result:The Graphical Workflow Designer is opened.

In the list of workflows, select a workflow.
Result:The workflow opens in the graphical workflow designer.

In the designer, place your cursor on the border of the state from which you
want to create a state transition.
Result:The cursor changes to a crosshair.

Hold the primary mouse button and drag the crosshair to the state to which you
want to create the state transition.
Result:A state transition arrow is added between the workflow states.

Select the state transition arrow that you just created and select
Edit Transition on the Tools
pane.
Result:The State Transition dialog opens.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the state transition.
- Optional: In the Description field, enter a description for the transition.

On the Permissions tab, specify which users are allowed to
do the state transition.

- Optional:
Use the settings on the Electronic Signature tab to set an
electronic signature for the state transition.

- Optional:
Use the settings on the Trigger tab to specify a condition
that triggers this state transition when the condition is fulfilled.

- Click OK to close the State Transition dialog.
- In the designer, click Save.
