Vaults

On the Vaults page of M-Files Manage, click a vault name to see the vault information. It includes information about your subscription, object and storage utilization, and vault users. To see the vault region, address, port, protocol, and GUID, click Show additional information. On the vault information page, you can also download vault application logs.

To see the vault user information, go to the list of users and click a user.

Note: The Subscription admin or Access admin role is necessary to manage users in M-Files Manage.

Preparing for Vault Creation

Before you create a vault, plan the vault configurations and operations, such as these:

  • Metadata structure
  • Security, permissions, and authentication
  • Users and user groups
  • Migration or import of vault or other data
  • Vault templates
  • Workflows
  • Connections to external data
  • Add-ons, plugins, and extensions from M-Files or certified partners
  • Vault administration and maintenance

It is possible to create and manage many cloud vaults with your subscription. For example, a separate quality management vault with limited access or a vault for testing purposes can be useful.
