Managing Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Note: You must have organization-level admin rights to do this.

When two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled, the users must enter both their M-Files Hubshare credentials and a verification code when they log in to M-Files Hubshare. The users can find the verification code in a mobile authenticator app, for example Microsoft Authenticator.

You cannot enable 2FA for user accounts that use single sign-on in their organization.

Enabling 2FA for user accounts

To enable 2FA:

  1. On the navigation bar, click the user icon and select Settings.
  2. Click Organization.
  3. Next to Two-factor authentication, click Manage two-factor authentication.
  4. Select the user accounts that must use 2FA.
With the Always force 2FA for new users menu, you can select a group of user accounts.
  5. Click Save.
The users must now enter both their M-Files Hubshare credentials and a verification code when they log in to M-Files Hubshare.

Resetting 2FA for user accounts

To reset 2FA for a user:

  1. On the navigation bar, click the user icon and select Settings.
  2. Click Organization.
  3. Next to Two-factor authentication, click Manage two-factor authentication.
  4. Find the user account.
  5. On the user account row, click Reset 2FA configuration.
You can do this operation only for the user accounts that have 2FA configured.
  6. Click Save.
To use M-Files Hubshare with 2FA, it must be configured for them again.
