Enabling native co-authoring
Important information
- You can only enable one type of co-authoring in one vault. If web co-authoring is enabled, you must disable it before you can enable native co-authoring.
- This feature is available for M-Files Web and the new M-Files Desktop. For more information about future improvements and functionalities, refer to Microsoft 365 Storage and Native Experiences FAQ in M-Files Support Portal.
- It is recommended to use native co-authoring with M-Files November '25 Update or later.
- Native co-authoring is available for M-Files Cloud customers in selected M-Files platform editions. When this feature is enabled, it is the default edit operation for documents that can be co-authored.
- Previously, native co-authoring was automatically enabled together with Microsoft 365 storage. Now, you can enable them separately. It is also possible to disable native co-authoring in the Microsoft 365 storage settings.
To enable native co-authoring, you must first enable Microsoft 365 storage in a vault. For instructions, see Enabling Microsoft 365 storage.
