Setting Up the Outlook Plugin

Note: You must have organization-level admin rights to do this.

If your organization has the license for the Outlook plugin, you can enable the plugin for internal user accounta and configure default settings for it.

Enabling the Outlook plugin for users

When you enable the Outlook plugin for a user account, the user can install the Outlook plugin and connect Microsoft Outlook to M-Files Hubshare.

To enable the plugin:

  1. On the navigation bar, click the user icon and select Settings.
  2. Click Internal users.
  3. On the user account row, click the three-dots menu icon and select Edit.
    Result:The Update internal user dialog is opened.
  4. Enable Outlook plugin.
  5. Click Save.

Configuring default settings for the Outlook plugin

With the Outlook plugin, the users can connect Microsoft Outlook to M-Files Hubshare.

If your organization has the license for the Outlook plugin configuration, you can set the default settings for internal user accounts in the organization.

To configure the default settings:

  1. On the navigation bar, click the user icon and select Settings.
  2. Click Organization.
  3. Scroll down to the Information on your Outlook plugin license section and click Settings.
    Result: The Default settings for Outlook plugin dialog opens.
  4. Change the settings.
    If you select to protect attachments with a password, these are your options:
    OptionResult
    Use public accounts Never create an account for the recipient.
    Use external accounts Always create an external account for the recipient.
    Both (default public) Let the sender select if they want to create an account for the recipient.
  5. Click Save.
